British Youth Honor the Fallen at Overloon War Cemetery

MPCT students

This week, we welcomed a group of young people from the British program MPCT (Military Preparation College for Training) to Overloon War Cemetery. The program offers youth between the ages of 14 and 23 a combination of physical training, personal development, and career preparation. Whether they aim to join the British Army, build self-confidence, or pursue a future in the world of sports, MPCT supports them with discipline, structure, and motivation, offering:

  • Military preparation for young people aged 16 and up
  • Alternative education for 14–16-year-olds
  • Sports and physical education programs with real-life opportunities
  • A focus on self-confidence, teamwork, and leadership

After an introduction to the cemetery by one of our volunteers, Piet Peters, the group laid a wreath, and “The Last Post” was played by Jessie van Lieshout.

The young people worked on various assignments while reflecting at different gravesites.

With locations across England and Wales and thousands of young people already supported, MPCT proves that investing in youth pays off — both for them and for society.

As a foundation, we are proud to have been able to contribute, in our own small way, to this meaningful program.
