Overloon War Chronicles Foundation celebrates first anniversary

On 7 July 2021, all our initiatives such as “lights on war graves” and the search for the portrait photos and background stories were incorporated into Overloon War Chronicles Foundation. Now, one year later, we are proud of what we have already achieved. Already 134 portrait photos have been found of the 281 soldiers buried at Overloon War Cemetery. Over 90 background stories have been worked on and many new contacts have been established with families of the soldiers. A website has been launched with extensive background information and on which many interesting biographies can already be read. We realised a very successful adoption plan, as a result of which all graves have now been adopted.

Our team has been expanded with a number of new people who help write, research, publish the website and help think about our activities during the year. In short, we are confident that we will continue along this path and that our projects will keep the Battle of Overloon alive and propagate it, both nationally and internationally, also for future generations.
